Antibody microarrays have enabled investigators measure protein abundance in dependently of gene expression and permit investigators to characterize minimal amounts of precious biological sample in parallel for biomarker discovery and diagnostic applications. The individual features of arrays can be either spotted and fixed on two-dimensional grid on a planar surface, such as glass, plastic or silicon chips or they can be constructed from optically encoded particles suspended in a solution for the purpose of detecting antigens.
- Profile hundreds of native proteins simultaneously
- Compare protein abundances in a variety of biological samples
- Identify candidate biomarkers for diagnostic application
- Measure changes in protein expression level
- Semi-quantify protein targets in biological samples

Complete Antibody Array Assay Services
Antibody arrays have recently been developed by several vendors that provide sensitive and specific protein marker discovery tools. These arrays have as many as 308-1,318 antibodies on a single slide that collectively covers >2000 unique proteins, the majority of which are low abundance regulatory proteins important in cancer biology. Antibodies in these arrays are against total as well as phosphorylation states of certain proteins.
Bio-Synthesis performs full antibody array assay services using sample provided by our client. Researchers can select from a wide selection of antibody microarrays to study protein changes and phosphorylation events. By utilizing our Full Antibody Array Assay Services, investigators have the option of sending test samples to experienced scientists at Bio-Synthesis, who will perform antibody array assays in a reliable and efficient manner.
The protein expression profiling service includes:
- One Antibody Array slide
- Protein Extraction and labeling
- Assay condition optimization
- Conjugation of Biotin Labeled Protein to Antibody Array
- Detection using Cy®3 -Streptavidin
- Scan the arrays
- Data acquisition. (Data provided in Excel format)
- Full report including data in Excel format and images
- Turnaround Time: Usually 8-12 days (can be longer if there are more than 6 samples)
Antibody Microarray Printing
Our custom array printing service is provided by our printing team with extensive experience in microarray printing technology and system integration. We address your special arraying needs. Our services include printing on our unique 3-D glass substrates, membranes, or on any substrate of your choice. The printing conditions are optimized for each new sample printed to ensure adequate sample immobilization and to preserve the activities of each unique sample. Extra care is used to produce arrays of superior spot morphology, consistency and uniformity. Each printed slide undergoes vigorous quality control and verification.
Multiplex Quantitative Analyses Using Suspension Array System
The Luminex xMAP technology is a microsphere-based multiplexing system for quantitation of multiple analytes in a single sample. A specific antibody to the target protein is covalently coupled to internal fluorescently dyed beads. The beads with bound target proteins are separated by laser excitation and quantitated. Beads coupled with different antibodies, each with a distinct fluorescence signature, are mixed, thus enabling simultaneous assay of multiple protein targets in a single well of a 96-well plate. This is a sensitive quantitative assay that enables detection of proteins in cell extracts and extra-cellular fluids at very low concentrations (1 pg/ml), and thus is excellent for analysis of signaling pathways and regulatory proteins.
