When we thawed the purified antibody, there are white precipitate. Should we be concern?

When an antibody is frozen in the absence of a stabilizer, it may come up with precipitates which are denatured and inactive proteins. That is why we recommend to store antibody with 50% glycerol at -20°C. This storage condition won’t affect downstream applications, such as ELISA, western blot, IHC, FACS etc. What you need to do now is to centrifuge the antibody, 13,000 rpm, 15 min, 4°C. Then carefully remove the supernatant from the precipitate. The antibody concentration in the supernatant should be measured again. Also the recovered antibody may have lost some activity.
