There are some black flecks floating in solution of my Oligo-Gold Nanoparticle order. What are they?
This is little aggregated gold nanoparticles. Nanoparticles tend to aggregate in high salt concentration which is the conjugation condition in order to maximize the loading. Slight precipitation was observed. Most of the precipitations were removed by spin down at low speed (<2000RPM) for less than 1 min (Attn: High speed spin will precipitate the nanoparticle which can be resuspended by sonicating and soft shaking).
