Bio-Synthesis offers Cy7 fluorescent dye oligonucleotide labeling.  Cy7 dye is a near infrared fluorescent dye. It has an absorbance maximum of 747  nm and an emission maximum of 776 nm. This dye are suitbable for use in application such as fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) oligonucleotide duplexes suing CY5.5 as the donor on one strand and Cy7 as the acceptor on the complementary strand. This NIR fluorophores can be used to take advantage of near infrared window of biological tissues. Highly increased transparency of tissues in this spectral region allows to carry out in vivo imaging, and drug design related experiments.

Cy7 dye can be incorporated at any position within an Oligonucleotide post-synthetically or at time of synthesis. An oligonucleotide modified with a primary amine group is used to covalently attach dye with oligonucleotide via NHS ester chemistry; other cross-linking chemistries are also available depending on particular project specifications . Dual HPLC purification is highly recommended.
