ATTO Fluorescent Labels

Bio-Synthesis offers a large variety of ATTO fluorescent labels and quenchers from ATTO-TEC.

The ATTO dye series covers the spectral range from 350 nm in the ultraviolet region (UV) to 750 nm in the near-infra red region (NIR) of the electromagnetic spectrum. ATTO dye series can be used as a replacement of fluorescein derivatives (FAM, HEX, and TET) and cyanine dye derivatives (CY3, CY5, CY5.5, CY7) as well as the Alexa dye series.

Labeling of oligonucleotides with ATTO dyes can be done by conjugating the selected dyes post-synthetically. For this, oligonucleotides modified with primary amines are used for the conjugation reaction. Alternately, other cross-linking chemistries are also available, depending on the project specification.

A dual HPLC purification step is performed to remove failure sequences in the first round of purification followed by a second HPLC purification step just after the dye labeling step. The second HPLC purification step is performed to remove unlabeled oligonucleotides and excessive dye label.

The table below lists spectral properties of ATTO and Substitution Dyes.
