Bio-Synthesis offers monobromobimane (mBBr, monobimane) fluorescent dye oligonucleotide labeling services. Monobimane is a heterocyclic compound that are fluorogentic upon reacting with thiol-containing molecules. In protein research, mBBr is widely used for structural studies on disulfide linkages and thiol - containing residues.

Monobromobimane  can be incorporated at any position within an Oligonucleotide. Dual HPLC purification is used to remove failure sequences during first HPLC purification,  after labeling, the second HPLC is performed to remove unlabeled oligonucleotides and excessive dye in order to obtain a full length labeled oligonucleotide.
