Description:
This peptide is amino acids 42 to 50 fragment of the human respiratory syncytial virus (hRSV) nucleoprotein (NP). RSV is a single-stranded, negative-sense RNA that has 10 transcription units that sequentially transcribe 11 proteins, including NS1 and NS2. NS1 and NS2 are non-structural proteins that work together to suppress the activation and nuclear translocation of the IFN-regulatory factor IRF-3. NS1 and NS2 also mediate proteosome degradation of signal transducer and activator of transcription 2 with Elongin-Cullin E3 ligase activation to block type I IFN signal cascade.
