Bio-Synthesis offers ATTO 520 fluorescent dye oligonucleotide labeling services. ATTO 520 is related to Rhodamine 6G.  Characteristic features of the label are strong absorption, high fluorescence quantum yield, and high thermal and photo-stability. 

The fluorescence of ATTO 520 is excited most efficiently in the range 510-535 nm,  A suitable source of excitation is an Argon-Ion laser using the 514 nm line. They dye can be use as an alternative dye for JOE, TET dye.

ATTO520 Wavelength

ATTO 520 dye can be incorporated at any position within an Oligonucleotide. A primary amine modified oligonucleotide is used to covalently attach with dye via NHS conjugation chemistry; other cross-linking chemistries are also available depending on particular project specifications. Dual HPLC purification is used to remove failure sequences during first HPLC purification,  after labeling, the second HPLC is performed to remove unlabeled oligonucleotides and excessive dye in order to obtain a full length labeled oligonucleotide.
