Can we analyze amino acids in plasma or serum samples to establish an amino acid profile?

Yes, Bio-Synthesis can analyze amino acid in plasma or serum samples. Using automatic amino acid analyses can be used to analyze deproteinized plasma and serum samples. The use of sulphosalicylic acid prior to the actual amino acid analysis allows for the quantitative removal of interfering proteins. Furthermore, amino acids are more stable in heparinized plasma than in serum and most amino acids in plasma are more stable at -20° than at 6°. Cystine, however, is stable only at 25°, and the amino acids present in a sulphosalicylic acid extracts of fresh plasma are stable both at 6° and at -20°.
