Supplying Proteins for Antisera Production

  • Proteins should be at least 6kilodaltons in size to be injected without conjugation.
  • 2mg of protein/antigen is needed for the immunization protocol.
  • An additional mg is needed if you desire an ELISA
  • Proteins can be sent in solution, as a gel slice, or lyophilized. The material should be sent overnight on ice packs or dry ice.
  • If proteins are sent in solution, it should be at a concentration of at least 1mg/ml, and please indicate the composition of the solution.
  • The solution is not a concern providing the concentration is 1mg/ml. Thd solution will be diluted enough when it is injected to cause no harm to the animals.
