What are BNA based FISH Probes

BNA based FISH probes are modified oligonuleotides based probes that can be used to detect target sequences such as repetitive DNA sequence elements present in the human genome.

FISH probes which exhibit higher DNA affinities promise to potentially improve the sensitivity of hybridization techniques. The use of chimeric oligonucleotides as probes for FISH allows the fluoresecence painting of chromosomes in the metaphase or in interphase nuclei.
