Dyomic DY-647, Far Red Emission

DY-647® is a bright far-red fluorescent dye developed by Dyomics GmbH for fluorescence imaging, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, and molecular diagnostics. It exhibits strong absorption around 654 nm with peak fluorescence emission at approximately 672 nm, making it well suited for excitation using standard 633 nm or 640 nm laser systems.

DY-647 provides high fluorescence intensity, excellent photostability, and low background autofluorescence compared with shorter wavelength fluorophores. These characteristics make it an excellent choice for dual-labeled probes, FISH probes, molecular beacons, qPCR assays, oligonucleotide conjugates, protein labeling, and super-resolution microscopy.

For oligonucleotide synthesis, DY-647 is commonly introduced through 5′ modification, 3′ modification, or internal amino-modified nucleotides, allowing flexible placement within DNA, RNA, siRNA, ASOs, aptamers, and other custom oligonucleotide constructs.

Because of its spectral properties, DY-647 is frequently selected as a functional alternative to Alexa Fluor® 647, ATTO® 647N, and CF® 647 in multicolor fluorescence experiments.

Oligonucleotides are stable in solution at 4°C for up to 2 weeks. Properly reconstituted material stored at -20°C should be stable for at least 6 months. Dried DNA (when kept at 20°C) in a nuclease-free environment should be stable for years.
