BHQ®-1 labeled oligonucleotides are used in many applications, including dual-labeled fluorogenic probes for real-time PCR. This dark quencher has strong absorption range of 480 nm - 580 nm, which provides excellent quenching of fluorophores that fluoresce in this range, such as FAM, TET, CAL Fluor® Gold 540, JOE, HEX, CAL Fluor Orange 560, and Quasar® 570 dyes.
