When to use single anti-peptide antibody production?

The overall aim of antibody production is to identify regions of the protein that are most likely to be accessible on the surface of the full length protein. We typically try to suggest three potential peptide candidates to choose from. The single peptide strategy is best suited for reproducing the previously reported success of a polyclonal production with a known peptide sequence. If budget is not an issue, we highly recommend using 2-3 peptides and conjugate individually, and immunize separately into different host animal.
