A glyco amino acid is a saccharide attached to a single amino via covalent bond through a glycosyl linkage (O-, N-, S-).  These glyco amino acids are incorporated into peptide in solid phas peptide synthesis, using Fmoc protected with the sugar generally as acetylated form.
