Description:

This 13 residue amidated neuropeptide activates juvenile hormones (JH) synthesis in adult, but no larval lepidopteran corpora allata. It is expressed in both the central and enteric nervous systems. The sequence is isolated and sequenced from the isolated from the head of pharate adults of Manduca sexta in 1989.                                    C-terminus is amidated.
